Cards before Finnish independence

The early part of the 20th century was a golden age for postcards. The themes were often topographical, but also pictures of vehicles were popular. During this time it was common that on top of the cards was marked what the picture represented, as you will see if you look closer at the cards here below.

 

In Lauri's collection from this period are several cards sent to his adoptive father, John Lagerström.
