Early in the 1980s, President Kekkonen resigned and Mauno Koivisto was elected president. Finland was experiencing a lot of economic growth during this period.

 

There were several card series given out during the 1980s, such as the one commisioned by the VHS (Vapaussoturien huoltosäätiö 1918-1944) by Kimmo Pälikkö and the one commisioned by the Turku society of litographies by J. J. Reinberg from the 1850s. These two series exist in Lauri's collection and you can see them below. There are also several cards sent during trips as the tourist industry grew rapidly in the 1980s.
